Technical information
Hybrid construction
Trousers designed using 2 different components:
– a resistant fabric (207 g/m2) on the areas to be protected from abrasion (buttocks, lower front leg). This fabric is also stretchy, giving you great freedom of movement. It benefits from a water-repellent treatment.
– a light and breathable fabric (150 g/m2) on the rest of the trousers.
What is component water repellency?
These pants have water-repellent areas (bottom of legs, buttocks) that prevent water from penetrating inside the fabric. Please note, this does not mean WATERPROOF. Water repellency slows down the penetration of water and prevents the pants from getting wet too quickly, but will not keep you dry in regular rain. To reactivate the water repellency, put the pants in the dryer for 10 minutes at a low temperature. Otherwise, we advise you to add waterproof overpants, ref 8504646.

Supplied with a belt.
Direction of opening of hand pockets
We have deliberately positioned the closing direction of the hand pockets downwards. This way, the zipper slider does not get in the way when you tighten the waist belt of your backpack, and your belongings remain securely in your pockets!
What size to choose?
Fitted cut that, thanks to the use of stretch fabric where needed, guarantees a high level of comfort in movement. Choose your usual size.

Tests
These pants have been tested and validated in the field in real conditions. They were worn for 5 weeks by several people who completed the Grande Traversée des Alpes (GTA) in late spring 2017. V2 (version 2) of the MT500 pants, which includes the improvements made to the product, was tested in the summer of 2020 in the Northern Alps. These tests allowed us to validate the MT500 pants in use.
